Our studio is located in Hanuman Puri Colony, right on Station Road. Being near Dr. Veena Tandon’s place makes it easy for people to find us when they need a quick photo. The shop isn’t very large, but we’ve managed to fit in the backdrop curtains and all the lights we need. One of the curtains has a little snag at the bottom, but it doesn't show in the pictures. We have a small mirror on the wall so people can fix their hair before they sit down. Most of the time, the front door is open to let some air in, so you can hear the traffic from the station road. We have a computer in the corner where we look at the shots and do the basic cropping. It’s a quiet kind of work most days, unless a big family comes in all at once for a group portrait. Then it gets a bit chaotic with everyone trying to stand in the right spot. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the people walking past every morning. Sometimes the camera battery dies right when we need it, so we always keep a spare charging near the switchboard. There are piles of old photo envelopes behind the counter and some samples of frames we used to sell years ago still hanging up on the wall. We just spend our time clicking pictures and printing them out while people wait on the wooden bench.
