Durgapur Tmt

Our shop is number 25 over in Nawabganj Naagtara. We’re really easy to find because we are right near the Bijli Power House. Durgapur Tmt has been operating from this little corner for some time. We deal with steel bars and construction stuff, so it’s a lot of heavy lifting. You can hear the clanging of the Tmt rods whenever a load arrives or when we’re moving things around for a customer. Being so close to the power house means we always have a landmark for people to find us. The area gets a bit crowded with traffic, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home through Nawabganj. We spend a lot of time on our feet, measuring lengths and making sure the counts are right. It’s a simple setup—a counter, some space for the stock, and a lot of dust. We don't do anything fancy with the place. It’s just a workspace where we get things done. Most of the people who come in are local contractors or guys building their own homes. We know most of the regulars and their families. It’s a friendly enough place, even if the work itself is a bit rough and tiring. We just keep the shop open, wait for the next truck, and help out whoever walks through the door. It is a noisy job, but we are glad to be doing it.
