District Jail Hospital

Working on Jail Road has a different feel to it. The District Jail Hospital is right there in the Jail Colony, so it is a very specific kind of environment. It isn't like the main town hospitals where people are coming and going for just any reason. Here, things are more controlled. The building is very plain, almost a bit stark, with grey walls and heavy doors. We don't have any flashy signs out front. People who live in the colony know where we are, and that is about it. The routine is very important here. Everything happens at a certain time, from the morning checks to the evening lock-up. It is actually quite quiet most of the time, which is different from the usual hospital chaos. We have a small courtyard where some of the staff sit during their breaks. The furniture inside is all very old, mostly heavy metal desks and chairs that have been there for decades. We don't really have a marketing plan or any need for one. We just provide what is needed for the colony and the inmates. It is a very practical place. Some might say it feels a bit cold, but it is just the nature of being on Jail Road. We focus on the work and keeping things running smoothly. It is a quiet, steady job and the people here are like a small family because we are tucked away.
