Bahraich Cold Drinks

We run this small shop over in Bandariya Bagh. You can find us right near the big water tank in Sufipura, which is where most people look when they are trying to find the place. We sell cold drinks and various bottled sodas to the folks living around here. It has been a very hot summer this year, so we have been quite busy keeping the crates stacked and the coolers running all day long. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a few hours, and we have to worry about the drinks getting warm, but that is just how it is in this neighborhood. We have a couple of wooden benches outside so people can sit for a minute while they have their drink. Usually, the local kids and some of the older men hang out there in the evenings when it cools down a bit. My brother and I take turns behind the counter from morning until late at night. It is a simple business. We order what we need, put it on ice or in the fridge, and sell it to whoever walks in. The water tank is the best way to tell people where we are because everyone knows it. We try to keep a decent variety of stuff, like the local lemon sodas that people like. The floor is just concrete and we sweep it out when it gets too dusty. It is not like a big store, just a regular local spot that stays busy.
