B P Shukla Memorial Hospital

Police Line Road is a funny place to have a hospital. It’s always got that specific energy because of where it is. We spend most of our days here at B P Shukla Memorial, just moving from one room to another. The hallways aren't overly wide, so you're always bumping into someone you know. It’s mostly routine stuff. A lot of folks come in because they live right nearby and don't want to travel far. We see the same traffic patterns out the window every single day. The sun hits the front desk around ten in the morning, making it hard to see the computer screens for an hour. Nobody ever complains much about it, though. We just shift the monitors. It’s a plain building, nothing too special to look at from the outside. Inside, it’s mostly just white walls and the sound of people talking in the corridors. We have a few fans that squeak, which we should probably fix one day. The staff mostly brings lunch from home, and we eat in that small back room. It’s a quiet life if you don't count the sirens now and then. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a place for people to get sorted out when they’re feeling under the weather. We’ve been on Police Line Road long enough that the local shopkeepers know all our names. It’s a basic setup, but it gets the job done for the neighborhood.
