Bora Bazar is a busy place to have an agency, and that’s where we’ve been for years. There is always someone shouting, a cart being pushed, or a motorbike trying to squeeze through the narrow lanes right outside our door. Our space is tucked away in the middle of all that chaos. We deal with a lot of bulk orders, so there are always stacks of medicine cartons arriving or leaving on the back of a cycle van. It gets cramped inside, especially when a big delivery comes in at the same time we’re trying to count the existing stock. The air is always a bit heavy with the smell of cardboard and plastic. We don't have much room for a proper office, so we just have a small corner with a table and a couple of chairs where we do the billing and take phone calls. Most of the time, I’m just standing up, moving boxes around to find a specific batch number for a customer. It’s tiring work, and my back usually aches by the time we close up in the evening. There isn't anything fancy about what we do at Shamim Medicine Agency. We just make sure the shops in the area get what they need so they can stay stocked up. We know the other traders in Bora Bazar well, and we often share a quick meal or a cup of tea when things quiet down.
