S. P. Textiles

You’ll find S. P. Textiles along Kovai Main Road at Sf No. 565/2 in Thekkalur, near Avinashi. It’s a busy stretch of road, and we’re right in the thick of the textile hub here. The building isn’t much to look at from the outside, just a functional space where the looms and machines are kept. Inside, it’s loud. You have to raise your voice to be heard over the constant sound of the weaving. We spend our days managing the yarn supplies and watching the production lines. There’s always a layer of lint in the air, no matter how much we clean. We’ve got a group of regulars who have worked with us for years. We know each other's families and how we like our tea. It’s a local operation through and through. We don't have a fancy website or a glossy brochure. If someone wants to know what we do, they usually just stop by or give us a call on the landline. We deal with the ups and downs of the power supply and the fluctuations in the price of cotton. That’s just the reality of the textile business in this part of the country. We keep the machines running as much as we can, and when the day is over, we’re tired but satisfied. It’s simple, hard work, and it’s how we’ve always done it here in Thekkalur.
