Barrel Hone

Out here at Plot No. 803 in the Mie Area, things are mostly industrial and straightforward. It is not the kind of place you would walk through for fun. We have been set up here for a while now, focusing on barrel honing. If you have never seen it, it is a lot of metal and oil and heavy machines doing their thing all day long. The floor is concrete and stays surprisingly cool even when it is baking hot outside. We do not have much in the way of decorations or a reception area because the machines take up almost all the space we have. Most of our morning is spent setting up the rigs and checking the measurements on the parts. It is precise work, even if the environment looks a bit rough to an outsider. The guys usually bring their lunch from home and we eat together when there is a break in the schedule. There is a tea stall not too far away that we walk to sometimes when we need a stretch. We do not spend much time on the phone or computer unless we absolutely have to. Most of our day is spent with our hands on the equipment. The noise is constant, just a low industrial grind that you eventually stop hearing after a few months. It is an honest day’s work and we like the routine of it. We just keep the barrels moving.
