Gupta Traders

We are right on Railway Road in the Kathmandi area. It’s a very old part of town and it stays busy from sunrise until the shops shut at night. Our shop is one of those places where there’s always something stacked in the corner. We trade in different goods, mostly whatever the local people and builders need. It can be a bit dusty with all the stuff moving in and out. There’s no air conditioning here, just a ceiling fan that’s been running for years. We know most of the people who walk past our door every day. We don't do any big advertising. Usually, someone just hears about us from a neighbor and stops in to see what we have. The Railway Road can get quite congested with carts and bikes, so unloading a shipment can be a real headache sometimes. We’ve got our routine down though. My family has been around this area for a long time, so we’ve seen the street change quite a bit over the years. We keep a ledger for everything and try to stay organized, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. It’s a practical business and we like being right where the action is near the tracks. Sometimes the noise of the trains is a bit much, but you get used to it after a while. We keep things simple and just focus on our daily trade without any unnecessary complications.
