You can find us over at 79, M.I.E., Part-A. It’s a standard industrial plot, nothing special to look at from the outside. We’ve got a heavy metal door that stays open most of the day to let some air in. Inside, it’s all business. We have the lathes and the welding equipment set up towards the back. The floor is concrete and has seen better days, stained with oil and marks from moving heavy parts around. We aren't a huge team, just a handful of us who have been doing this kind of work for years. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. If someone comes by, they usually just walk right into the workshop and find one of us. It’s a lot of manual work and getting our hands dirty. Sometimes the machines break down and we spend the whole afternoon just fixing our own gear instead of working on orders. That’s just how it goes in this line of work. The M.I.E. area is usually pretty quiet compared to the main city, which we like. There’s a small park nearby where some of us go to sit during lunch. We don't have any big slogans or goals. We just take the drawings people give us and try to make the parts as close as we can. It’s honest work and it keeps us occupied. Every day is pretty much the same, and we like the routine of it. It suits us just fine.
