About Mangi Lal Krishi Yantr Udyog – Agriculture & Farming in Bagru
The workshop is located right on Bagru N H 8, which is convenient since so many farmers pass by on their way to the market. We mostly deal with agricultural tools and machinery here at Mangi Lal Krishi Yantr Udyog. It’s a rough and tumble kind of place. There’s always the smell of grease and iron in the air. We spend a lot of time welding or fixing parts that have seen better days. The sun beats down on the highway and makes the tin roof pretty hot by noon. We usually take a long break then. My brother and I started this because we knew how hard it was to find good repair work nearby. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just hear about us from their neighbors or see us from the road. Sometimes someone will bring in a machine that's older than I am and ask if we can make it run again. We usually can, though it takes some scratching of heads and searching for old parts in the back shed. It’s hard work and our hands are always stained black, but it’s steady. The highway noise is constant, like a background hum we don't even notice anymore. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next tractor to pull in. It’s a busy life but it’s what we know.
