Rajni Handloom

Rajni Handloom is located right near Jain College Road, very close to the Jain Mandir. It is a spiritual and busy part of the town. You can often hear the bells from the temple while we are working. We deal mostly with handloom items, so the shop is full of the smell of raw cotton and woven fabrics. The shelves are stacked high with bedsheets, towels, and various cloths. It gets quite dusty because of the road being so close, so we are constantly wiping things down. The college students often walk past our window on their way to class. It is a simple shop with a concrete floor and a few wooden tables for showing the goods. We don't have any air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that wobbles a little. Most of our customers are people who have been living in this area for decades. They know where we are and they know what we have. We don't really do much to change the look of the place; it has stayed the same for a long time. In the evenings, the street gets crowded with people visiting the mandir, and we usually stay open until the crowd thins out. It is a honest living, and we enjoy being part of this little community. We just take things one day at a time here.
