If you’re near the bus stand in Lokapur, you’ve probably seen us. We are located right by Vicky Enterprises. It’s a convenient spot since the buses are always coming and going. We work on various projects around this part of Karnataka. The office is often full of maps and blueprints scattered across the tables. It gets dusty sometimes with all the construction work happening nearby. We’ve got a mix of people working here, some local and some who moved for the job. We don’t really do anything flashy. It’s mostly about getting the site work sorted and making sure the materials arrive on time. Sometimes the trucks get delayed on the highway, and that causes a bit of a headache for everyone. We drink a lot of coffee to stay awake during the long shifts. The building isn't very big, so we end up bumping into each other a lot. We know the shopkeepers next door pretty well by now. It’s a practical setup. We focus on the tasks at hand, whether it’s checking measurements or talking to the contractors. There isn’t much time for sitting around. We just keep our heads down and try to stay on schedule. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. The noise from the bus stand is something you eventually get used to after a week or two.
