Shyam Tambe

I’m Shyam Tambe, the son of Chandrakant, and I operate out of the 34th Sector in Navanagar, Bagalkot. The exact spot is Plot 45-D, and if you’re looking for it, we are quite close to the Vittal Mandir. You can usually hear the temple bells in the morning and evening, which is a nice rhythm to the day. Bagalkot has its own way of doing things, and being in Navanagar means we have a bit more space than the older parts of town. The plot is fairly large, so I have room to keep things organized outside as well as inside. It’s mostly just me here, though my family helps out when things get really busy. The weather gets very hot in the summer, so we have a lot of shade trees planted around the edge of the plot. I’ve lived in this area my whole life. The building itself is a simple one-story structure with a flat roof. I spend most of my time at a small desk near the door so I can see who is coming and going. It’s not a fancy office with leather chairs. We have some old benches for people to sit on if they have to wait. There’s always a bit of dust because of the dry air in this part of Karnataka, but we try to keep it tidy. It’s a modest setup that serves its purpose for the work we do.
