Bagalkot is a dry place, but we are trying to keep things green over at Sy.No.127/BCD, Plot No. 15 in Mahesh Nagar. That’s where Osiya Eco Village Resorts is based. It’s not your typical resort with marble floors and glass walls. We use a lot of local materials and try to keep things simple. Working here means getting your hands dirty in the soil. We spend a lot of time planting trees and making sure the water system works correctly. Mahesh Nagar is a quiet area, and we like the peace it offers. Most of us who work here are from around Bagalkot, so we know the land well. We don't have a marketing team writing stuff for us. We just tell people we have a place to stay that feels like a village. The rooms are basic but comfortable. We spend our afternoons checking the solar panels or talking to the gardeners. Sometimes the wind picks up and blows a lot of dust around, so we’re always sweeping the porches. It’s an honest way to make a living. We have a small office where we handle the bookings, but we’d rather be outside. The goal is just to have a spot where the environment is respected. It takes a lot of patience to grow things here, but we are getting there. It’s a slow process, building something like this from the ground up.
