Nagareshwara Kirana Stores

Hungund has a very busy Main Market, and that is where you will find us at 5-2451. It’s a loud area with lots of people shouting and carts moving around all day. Our kirana store is right in the middle of it all. We have been here a long time, selling grains, pulses, and oils to the local families. The shop is always a bit messy because we are constantly moving bags around. They are heavy, and by the time we close at night, we are usually pretty tired. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. It’s just an honest shop where you get what you pay for. On market days, the place gets flooded with people from the outlying villages. It can be quite a headache trying to serve everyone at once, but we manage. My son helps me out on the weekends when he isn't busy with his own things. We don't use any fancy technology here. We just have a simple scale and a drawer for the cash. It’s a lot of work, and the dust from the market gets everywhere, but it’s what we know how to do. Hungund is home, and the market is where we spend most of our lives. We just keep the shelves stocked and hope for a good day of sales.
