Basaveshwar Engineering College has been around P.B. No. 53 for a long time now. You can tell just by looking at the older parts of the campus that many years have passed since the first stone was laid. The address is just a post box number, but everyone in the area knows exactly where the gates are. The trees have grown tall and wide, providing a lot of shade over the walkways which is nice when the weather gets rough. The main office is a bit old-fashioned, with wooden desks and those heavy metal cupboards for filing. You’ll find the staff sitting there, usually busy with some paperwork or talking to students about their fees. The hallways are wide and echo quite a bit when someone walks through them in hard shoes. We don’t have much in the way of flashy decorations; it is mostly just practical stuff like notice boards covered in old flyers and timetables. The students spend their time between the library and the labs, and you can see them grouped up under the trees during the afternoon. It is a steady sort of place. Things don’t change very fast here, and that is just how people like it. It feels solid and reliable, like an old house that has seen a lot of history. The daily grind is pretty simple, and we just keep the doors open and the lights on.
