Painter Deo

Painter Deo is a small shop, No 2/3, located in Shivaji Nagar. We are right by the Aplewadi Naka on the M.I.D.C Road. It is a busy area with a lot of trucks and vans moving in and out because of the industrial zone nearby. The shop itself is pretty narrow and filled with cans of paint, brushes, and ladders. You can usually smell the thinner and oil paint from the sidewalk before you even see the sign. We’ve been at this spot for a good while now. The Bate Badi Naka is just a short walk away, so we get a lot of people passing by on their way to work. It’s not a very polished place. The floor has colorful spills all over it that we never bothered to scrub off. We spend most of our time out on jobs, but someone is usually at the shop to mind the desk. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons because the sun hits the front window directly, so we usually keep the door propped open with a brick. We don't do much advertising; people just see our name when they’re stuck in traffic at the junction. It’s a simple setup, just a place for us to keep our gear and meet with folks who need something painted. We just take it one day at a time here. Usually, we close up around seven if the work is done, but sometimes we stay later to clean brushes.
