S. C. J. Plastics

At S. C. J. Plastics, we are right in the middle of the H. P. S. I. D. C. Industrial Area at number 79. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know it’s all about the factories and the heavy trucks moving through. Our unit is basically a large shed filled with machines and the smell of raw plastic material. It’s a bit noisy most of the time because the grinders and molding machines never really stop during the shift. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for years, and they know exactly how the machines behave when they get too hot. The floor is usually covered in some dust or small plastic pellets that we have to sweep up every few hours. We don’t have a fancy showroom; it’s just the production area and a small corner with a desk where we keep the registers. Most days are spent checking the cooling systems and making sure the orders are packed into bags for the delivery trucks. The industrial area can be quite a trek to get to, especially when it rains and the roads get muddy. We don't really do much advertising because the work usually comes from the same few people we’ve known forever. It’s honest work, even if it leaves us pretty tired by the time we lock up the gate in the evening.
