Here in Chandigarh, the office has a very specific feel. The city is so planned out, and our branch of Hdfc Standard Life follows that same sort of order. We arrive early, grab some tea, and start looking through the stack of files. The winters here get pretty cold, so we usually have a few extra sweaters hanging on the backs of our chairs. It’s a clean office, but it definitely looks lived in. There are stacks of paper on almost every desk because that’s just the nature of the insurance business. We talk to people from all over the city who come in to check on their policies. Some are retired and have plenty of time to chat, while others are in a big rush. We try to keep up with both. The light in the office is okay, though we rely on the overhead tubes most of the day. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that here. It's just the staff doing the daily grind. We know where the good food is around the corner for lunch. Most of us have been working together for a few years, so we know each other's habits. It’s a steady place to work. Nothing too exciting happens, but we get the job done. We just want to make sure the records are correct and everyone gets their questions answered. We keep the desks mostly clear, but there is always a folder or two that needs attention.
