If you take the Milkipur Road out toward Pawai, you’ll find us. We are in the Azamgarh area, and it’s a fairly rural spot compared to the big cities. The hospital sits right on the road, so it’s easy for people from the nearby villages to reach us. It gets quite dusty here, especially when the trucks go by on Milkipur Road, so we are constantly dusting the front desk. We have a lot of space out here, which is good because we get people coming from quite far away. Some of them travel for hours on buses or tractors to get here. We keep the doors open to let the breeze in when it’s not too hot. The waiting area is usually full of families sitting together. It can get quite loud with kids running around and people talking, but that’s just how it is in Pawai. We don’t have a lot of the fancy equipment you might see in a city hospital, but we handle the essentials. I’ve lived in this area my whole life, so I know most of the families who come through. We see a lot of farm-related injuries and the usual seasonal illnesses. The pace is different here; things move a bit slower, and people are patient. We just do what we can with what we have and try to be a reliable place for the community on Milkipur Road. Sometimes the tea lady comes by and we take a quick break.
