Instead, it’s a local building that fits in with the village surroundings. Most of the people who work here are from the local area, so we know everyone’s name and where they live. We spend our days doing what needs to be done and we don’t worry much about being fancy. The building is solid, keeping us dry when it rains and cool when the sun is beating down. We have a few desks and some chairs, and that’s about it. There’s a lot of greenery around us, which is a nice change from the dusty streets of larger towns. We follow a simple routine and don't try to make things more complicated than they need to be. It’s a small operation, but we’ve been here for a while and we know the area. It’s just a normal part of life in the Mau district, nothing more than that.
