Zebaish Boutique

Zebaish Boutique is tucked away near Water Works No. 4 on the corner of Dalsinghar Anna Pillai Street. It’s a busy spot because of the water works nearby, so there is always some activity happening outside the door. The shop itself is a bit small, and we have stuffed it full of different fabrics and finished pieces. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room to breathe when more than three people come in at once. We have a couple of mirrors and some racks that we move around to make more space. There are usually threads all over the floor by the end of the day, no matter how many times we sweep. People come in looking for something specific, and we spend a lot of time digging through piles of cloth to find the right shade of green or blue. It’s a bit chaotic, but it works for us. The corner location is good because people see the window while they are waiting for their bus or walking to the market. We don't have a big sign, just the name on the glass. The light inside is a little yellow, which makes the shop feel warm, even if the air conditioner is struggling against the afternoon heat. It’s just a local shop where we try to help people find something they like wearing without making a big fuss about it.
