Baba Dal Suply

Baba Dal Suply is located in the New Sabzi Mandi area, over on Shahganj, Azamgarh Road. If you have ever been to the mandi in the early morning, you know how chaotic and loud it can be. We are right in the thick of it, surrounded by other traders and piles of produce. Our main focus is dal, and you can see the big heavy sacks stacked up almost to the ceiling in our space. The floor is usually covered in a thin layer of dust from the bags, and the smell of raw grains is always in the air. We don't have a corporate office or anything like that. We just have a small wooden desk where we keep our ledger and a few pens. Most of our day is spent talking to the truck drivers and the laborers who help move the heavy loads. It is a physical job, and we don't have much time for sitting around. The tea stall nearby is where we get our morning and afternoon chai, which is about the only break we take. We have been in this market since it was set up, so we know most of the people around us. We don't use any fancy logos or have a sales team. We just sell what we have and try to keep things moving so the stock stays fresh. It is hard work, especially when the weather is bad, but it is what we do.
