Adarsh Udyog Rice Mill

Adarsh Udyog Rice Mill is located in the village of Pakwarkala, which falls under the Mirzapur taluka in Faizabad district. It’s a rural setting, surrounded by fields, so we are right in the heart of where the rice is actually grown. The mill is a basic building made of brick and tin, designed to get the job done without any unnecessary frills. We focus on milling the paddy brought in by the local villagers. The process is loud and the whole building vibrates when the main engine is running. We spend a lot of our time checking how the rice is coming out and making sure the bran is separated correctly. In the winter, it’s quite cold in the mornings before the machines warm up the place. We don't have fancy signage or polished floors, just the dirt and grain that come with the territory of running a mill in the countryside. Sometimes we have to deal with machinery breakdowns that take a day or two to fix since parts have to come from the city. Life here moves at its own pace, dictated by the seasons and the harvest cycles. We know everyone in Pakwarkala and they know where to find us when their crop is ready. It’s a lot of heavy work and long hours during the peak times, but it’s the life we know. We just focus on keeping the mill running and the bags stacked.
