Assisi Garments

Assisi Garments is our name, and we operate out of Kulathupalayam Palangarai. It is a bit of a walk from the main road, but we like it that way. Being at the (P. O.) area makes it easy for our mail to get through. We aren't a corporate outfit with people in suits. We are just a group of people who know how to handle fabric and thread. The building we work in has seen better days, but it keeps the rain off the machines, so it works for us. We started Assisi Garments because we needed a way to make a living, and making clothes was something we knew how to do. We don’t spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most people find us just by hearing about us from someone else in the area. It is a quiet life for the most part, except for the noise inside the shop. We have some older machines that rattle a bit, but they still get the job done. Every morning we open up the doors and start on whatever pile of work is waiting for us. We don’t have a big mission or anything like that. We just want to make sure the garments we finish are done right so we don't have to redo them later. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. That is how it is at Kulathupalayam. We just keep our heads down and sew.
