If you go down to Balaji Nagar in Rackkiayapalayam, you will find our small textile unit, Karthick Tex. We are right there in Avanashi. This area is known for fabric and yarn, so we fit right in with the rest of the neighborhood. It’s mostly family-run. We have some looms and some finishing equipment tucked away in the back. The noise is something you get used to after a while. My father started things here, and now we just keep it going. We don’t have a big sales team or a website that looks like a magazine. We mostly just talk to people face-to-face. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which is frustrating but that’s life here. We make a variety of fabrics depending on what the current demand is. Some months are busier than others. We don't really have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see what we are making, they just walk into the work area. We try to keep things honest and clear. Shipping stuff out involves a lot of heavy lifting. The roads around Rackkiayapalayam can be a bit narrow for the big trucks, but they manage. It's just a regular local business trying to make ends meet. We take pride in the fact that we've stayed in the same spot for so many years. It’s hard work, and the dust gets everywhere, but we are used to it. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay busy. It keeps us moving forward every day.
