You can find us at Shop No. 02 in the N-7 M area of Cidco. Aurangabad is a hot place in the summer, but we stay busy here. This foundation handles a mix of social welfare and education projects. It's a small shop, really. People from the neighborhood drop by quite often. We talk about local schools or help people with their paperwork. It’s not a big corporate office with glass walls. It’s just a place with a few chairs and a table where we figure things out. Sometimes we are teaching, other times we are just helping someone who walked in off the street. We’ve been in this part of Cidco for some time now. The foundation is named Umashankar, and we try to live up to that. It can get a bit crowded in the shop when a few families come in at once. We don't have a fancy website or a huge staff. Just a couple of us doing what needs to be done. Education is a big part of it because that's what people ask for the most. Welfare stuff happens when there’s a specific need in the community. It’s simple work, but it fills the day. We usually open up in the morning and stay until the work is finished. It’s a lot of talking and listening to people’s problems. We try to be helpful in whatever way we can without making a big fuss about it.
