We are located over at E-7 in the Mota Nagar part of the MIDC area. It is a busy spot and the machines here seem to never stop running during the day. Most of what we do involves dal, getting it ready and making sure it is clean. It's a dusty job, to be honest. You walk in and you can smell the lentils right away. My staff has been with me for a few years now. We aren't a big fancy operation, just a local mill trying to keep up with the orders that come in from the market nearby. Some days are slower than others, but mostly we are just busy loading sacks onto the trucks that park outside our gate. The floor is usually covered in some bit of grain or dust no matter how much we sweep it. It’s just how a mill is. We started out small and stayed that way because it’s easier to manage things ourselves. You won't find any shiny reception area here. It is just the machinery, the bags, and a small desk where I keep the notebooks for our records. People from the area know where to find us if they need their pulses processed. We try to get things done on time, though sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half a day fixing a belt or a motor. That’s just part of the daily life at Soham Dal Mill.
