Shiv Shankar Gents Beauty Parlour is located in Deo Market, in the Deo area of Aurangabad-Bihar. We are right near the Sabji Mandi, so there is always a lot of shouting and activity outside from the vegetable sellers and buyers. The shop is a simple room with two or three heavy barber chairs. We have large mirrors that cover one whole wall. Most of the men come in after they finish their shopping at the market. They sit down for a quick shave or a haircut. We use traditional razors and sharpen them on the leather strap. The smell of shaving soap is always in the air. We have a small radio that plays local stations. The floor is made of cement and we sweep it constantly because of all the hair. It is a very basic place. We don't have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that wobbles a little. Sometimes people just stop by to sit and talk about the crop prices or the weather. We have a water pitcher in the corner for anyone who is thirsty. The lighting is just a couple of long tube lights. We have been in this spot for a long time and everyone in the mandi knows us. It is a practical shop for working men who need a reliable haircut without paying too much or waiting too long.
