We work out of the Bank Colony in Ambajogai, which is in Beed district. Our office is at Suryakant Ganpatrao Mane’s place. It’s a nice residential area, so it’s easy for people to walk over and see us. Being in a place called Bank Colony is a bit of a coincidence, but it fits what we do. We help the local people with their savings and small credit needs. Many of our members are older people who are retired or folks running small shops in town. They come to us because they like the personal touch. We sit down, maybe have some tea, and talk about their accounts. A lot of our work is still done by hand. We write things in the ledgers and update the passbooks manually. Ambajogai has a lot of history, and we feel like we are a small part of the town’s life now. We don't spend money on big ads. Most of our members find us because a neighbor or a relative told them about us. That’s how word spreads in Beed. We just try to do an honest job and keep all the records correct. It can get really slow when the weather is boiling hot, but we keep the office open and wait for whoever needs help. It is just us doing what we can for the people in the colony and the town without being too formal about it.
