Out here in Ghatnandra Sillod, things move a bit differently than in the big cities. Sai Samarth Hospital And Nursing Home has been a part of this community for a good bit of time. It’s a combined space where we have the hospital side for quick visits and the nursing home part for people who need to stay longer. Most of our staff grew up around here, so there’s a lot of talking in the hallways about local news and family. It’s a practical place. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the equipment works and the beds are clean. We handle a bit of everything, from kids with scraped knees to older folks who need a bit more looking after. Sometimes the electricity acts up, but we’ve got a generator that usually kicks in after a minute or two. It’s just how things are in Sillod. People stop by even when they aren't sick sometimes, just to say hello to the nurses at the front desk. We don’t have a website or fancy brochures. Most people find out about us just by living nearby or hearing from a neighbor. It gets pretty busy during the monsoon season when everyone seems to catch a cold at once. We just keep the doors open and do what we're supposed to do. It’s a quiet life mostly, just looking after the folks who walk through the door and making sure they get sorted out.
