Sahara Kirana Store

Sahara Kirana Store has been sitting on V.I.P Road for quite a long time now. We are right there opposite the Bhadkalgate Gate, so it is hard to miss us if you are in that part of Aurangabad. It is just a regular shop where we sell the basic things people need for their kitchens like rice, flour, and different kinds of lentils. My father started this place and now I help run it with my younger brother. It is not a very big shop, so sometimes we have to stack the boxes of biscuits and soap right up to the ceiling. It gets quite busy in the evenings when everyone is heading home and remembers they need something for dinner. We try to keep the shelves full, but sometimes the delivery truck doesn't show up on time and we run out of certain brands. That is just how it goes sometimes. The road outside is always noisy with rickshaws and cars, and the dust comes inside, so we spend a lot of time dusting off the jars and packets. We know most of the people who come in because they live in the houses nearby. We don't have any fancy computers for billing, we just use a notepad and a calculator. It works fine for us. We open up early in the morning before the sun gets too hot and we stay open until quite late. It is a lot of work, but it keeps us busy and we like being part of the neighborhood.
