Ravi Ice Cream

Out here in the village of Ranigang, things move at a much slower pace than they do in the big city. Our place is located near the Public High School, so we see a lot of students hanging around once their classes are finished for the day. It is a very basic shop in a quiet part of the village. The road right outside can get quite dusty, especially when the wind picks up in the afternoon, so we are always dusting off the glass counters. We are located in the Imamganj area, and pretty much everyone around here knows each other. It is not just a business for us; it is where we live and work every single day of the year. The building itself is simple, just made of bricks with some paint that has definitely seen better days. When that school bell rings in the afternoon, we know it is about to get very crowded for a while. We try our best to keep the freezer fully stocked, but sometimes the deliveries take a long time to reach us out here. We do not have a big staff, just us family members taking turns behind the counter to help people. The heat in the summer months is really something else, so the shop becomes a very popular spot in the village. We spend the quiet hours of the early morning just prepping the space and checking on the machines. It is honest, hard work. We do not have any fancy signs or neon lights for the shop.
