We have been here at B-48 in the MIDC area for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot, mostly industrial stuff all around us. When you walk into the workshop, you’ll hear the machines running pretty much all day. We deal with transmatic devices, which basically means a lot of precision work with metal and gears. It’s not always clean work; there’s oil on the floors sometimes and the smell of cut metal is just part of the morning routine. Most of the guys here have been with us for years, so we all know how the old lathes and newer CNC machines behave. We don’t really do much fancy advertising or anything like that. People just know where to find us in the block. Sometimes the power goes out in this part of MIDC, and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It’s a simple setup. We spend our time checking measurements and making sure the parts fit right. If a piece is off by a tiny bit, it’s no good, so we spend a lot of time just staring at calipers. It’s hard work, and by the time five o’clock rolls around, we’re all pretty tired and covered in dust. But that’s how it goes when you’re making things. We just keep our heads down and get the orders done for whoever needs them. There is nothing more to it than that.
