Shivaji Chowk is always a bit chaotic, and our clinic is right there in the thick of it in Jaibhavani Nagar. We’re in the Cidco N 4 area, which stays pretty active all through the day. Combining the dental side with the general Balrugnalaya part means there is always someone waiting. I usually handle the front desk and see people coming in for toothaches or bringing their kids in for a checkup. The office is tucked away in a spot that’s easy to find if you know Shivaji Chowk at all. We have the usual dental chairs and some basic rooms for other stuff. It’s not a quiet place, but that’s just how Cidco is. You can hear the bikes and the people talking outside all the time. We’ve had to fix the sign a couple of times because of the weather, and the waiting room chairs have seen better days, but they work fine. Most of our regulars live just a few blocks away. They pop in, we chat for a second while they fill out their forms, and then they go in to see the doctor. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of setup. We don’t use any big words or fancy systems; we just write things down and help people when they arrive. It’s been our routine for years now, and we’re just another part of the neighborhood landscape in this part of town. Sometimes the water cooler makes a funny gulping noise that makes the patients smile, and the light in the hallway flickers if the wind is too strong outside.
