Om Sai Food Grains

We are based in Village Kurla, which is near the New Beed area. Our location is quite close to the Kurla Road MIDC area. It is a rural setting but with a lot of industrial activity nearby. We deal in food grains, mostly buying and selling what comes in from the local fields. The facility is basically a large shed with a concrete floor. We have scales for weighing the sacks and a small area where we keep the books. The village life is slow but the grain business can be fast when the harvest arrives. There is a lot of lifting involved and our backs usually ache by the end of the week. We have a few local men who help with the loading. The air is always full of the smell of wheat and bajra. Sometimes the birds get inside the shed and we have to shoo them out. New Beed is a growing area so there is always some construction or new road work happening nearby. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. We just talk to people face to face. If someone needs grain, they know to come down to Kurla Road and look for our gate. It’s a plain business without any frills. We focus on the weight being right and the grains being clean. That’s all that really matters in this line of work. We’ve been at this for a long time and we’ll probably be here for a long time more.
