Over in the Block Colony of Aurangabad, Nirmala Singh Construction Private Limited has its base at Purusottam Singh’s place. It’s a local operation, rooted right here in Bihar. We don't have some shiny corporate headquarters with a lobby. Most of our meetings happen standing around a pile of bricks or inside a half-finished room with no windows yet. We take on building projects around the district and just try to stay busy. Purusottam keeps an eye on the logistics. The work involves a lot of back-and-forth with laborers and making sure we have enough water at the site for the concrete mix. Aurangabad can get pretty intense with the heat, which makes the afternoon work tough for everyone. We usually start very early to beat the sun. It is a simple life of managing materials and keeping the site safe. There’s no fancy talk about visions or missions, just the sound of shovels and the smell of wet cement. Sometimes we have to wait a week for parts or specialized tools to arrive, which can be frustrating. But that is how it goes when you are running a construction company in a place like this. We know the local people, and they know where to find us if they need something built. We just keep our heads down and work through the list of tasks one day at a time until the project is done.
