Diamond Crusible Co. Ltd.

Our place, Diamond Crusible Co. Ltd., is at B-11 in the MIDC Waluj area. It’s a big industrial zone, so everything around us is factories and warehouses. We’ve been operating out of this unit for a good number of years. It’s not the kind of place you’d come for a tour; it’s a working shop floor where we’re usually busy with production. The metal roof gets loud when it rains, and it gets pretty hot during the summer afternoons. We have a small crew, and everyone knows their job. There’s no hierarchy where people sit in fancy offices while others work. We’re all pretty much in it together. Waluj is a long way from the main city, so most of us pack our lunches or buy something from the local vendors who come around on cycles. We don't have a website with professional photos or anything like that. If you see us, we’re probably in our work clothes, covered in dust or oil. We just focus on making the crucibles and getting them out the door. Some days the machines give us trouble, and we spend hours trying to get them back online. It’s just part of the routine. We don't make big promises, we just try to do a decent job every day and keep the business running as best as we can. It's just a regular industrial life for us.
