Mehraj Clinic

Mehraj Clinic is tucked away in Shah Bazar. We are pretty close to the Kali Masjid, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find us for the first time. The bazaar is always crowded and noisy, with people selling all sorts of things and scooters squeezing through the narrow gaps. It’s a lively place to be. Our clinic is right opposite Nisah n, though the sign there is a bit faded now. Inside, it’s a lot quieter than the street, though you can still hear the calls from the mosque and the general buzz of the market. We have a few benches for waiting. They aren't the softest, but they work. We see a lot of people from the Shah Bazar neighborhood. Many of them we know by name because they’ve been coming here for years. It’s a simple operation. We don’t have a computer system for everything; a lot of it is still written down in big ledgers that sit on the shelf. The lighting is okay, but we use a desk lamp when it gets dark early in the winter. We don’t have a big staff, just enough to keep things moving. It’s just a local clinic in the heart of the market. We open up in the morning, sweep the front step, and wait for the first person to walk in. That’s how it goes every day.
