Mahalaxmi Kirana

Mahalaxmi Kirana has been a part of the Holkar Nagar area for a long time now. We are located on Jalgaon Road, right near the Maruti Mandir in Aurangabad. You can usually hear the bells ringing from the temple while we are working inside the shop. It is a very straightforward kirana store where we sell the basic goods that every family needs for their kitchen. Jadhav Wadi is a busy neighborhood, and we get a lot of regular people coming in after they finish their work in the evening. The shop stays surprisingly cool inside even when the Maharashtra sun is beating down hard on the road outside. I spend a lot of my day sorting through large bags of grains or stacking up the small tea packets on the wooden shelves. We do not really bother with big signs or expensive decorations to attract people. It is more about having the right amount of salt, sugar, and oil when a neighbor realizes they have run out in the middle of cooking their dinner. Aurangabad Ho is a good area to be in, and being so close to the Mandir means there is always a bit of life around the corner. Sometimes the deliveries arrive a little late because of the traffic on Jalgaon Road, but we manage to get by. My hands are usually dusty from handling the flour bags, but that is part of the job.
