Krishna General Store

Our shop, Krishna General Store, is located right by the Aurangabad Railway Station. If you are walking near Vijay Plazza, you will see us there on Station Road. It’s a very noisy part of town because of the trains and the buses constantly moving people around. We get a lot of people who are just passing through, maybe waiting for a train or just arriving in the city. They usually want quick things like chips, cold drinks, or maybe a toothbrush they forgot to pack. Then we have our regulars who live nearby and come in for their daily milk and bread. It’s a small space, so we have to stack things high up on the shelves to make everything fit. Sometimes it’s hard to find what you’re looking for right away, but we usually know exactly where we tucked it. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of fans that we keep running all day to move the air around. It gets dusty being so close to the station road, so cleaning the glass counters is a never-ending job for us. We open up early because that’s when the first big groups of commuters start appearing. By the time evening rolls around, we are usually pretty tired, but there is always a last-minute customer needing something. We just stay open until the lights on the street start dimming down and the last train whistles.
