Gurukul Olympiad School

You can find Gurukul Olympiad School over at Jaginda Estate, right near the Aurangabad Railway Station. Being so close to the station means you can often hear the trains passing by while we are in class. It’s just something we have gotten used to over the years. The school is in a bit of an industrial-looking area, but inside it’s all about the books. We have a lot of students who are really focused on their studies. It isn't a place with a lot of frills. We have the classrooms, some lab equipment, and a lot of shelves filled with old textbooks. The teachers here are mostly locals who take the bus or ride their scooters to work. We spend our mornings checking attendance and our afternoons making sure the kids aren't wandering off toward the tracks. The building has that old-school feel where the floors are a bit uneven and the paint is peeling in the corners. We don't have a big budget for fancy decorations, so we just use the students' art projects to cover the walls. It feels like a real community because many of the families have lived in Aurangabad for generations. We drink a lot of chai in the office while we wait for the parent-teacher meetings to start. It’s a busy, dusty, and loud place, but it’s where we work every single day. We just try to help the students get through their exams without any extra stress.
