This is the Govt Medical College and Hospital located on the main hospital campus in Aurangabad. Because it is both a college and a hospital, it is a massive place with many different buildings. You will see a lot of young students in their white coats walking around with books and clipboards. They are here to learn how to be doctors while helping the regular staff. It is a very busy campus and it’s quite easy for a new visitor to get lost among the different wings. We get patients from all over the region, so the lines are always long. People often arrive before the sun is even up to get a spot in the queue. The hospital is not a quiet or peaceful place. There is always the sound of people talking, trolleys rolling, and announcements being made. The facilities are basic and have been used by thousands of people. The walls are a bit stained and the furniture is old. We have a lot of different departments, but every single one of them is crowded. It’s a tough place to work because there is never a slow day. We don't have a fancy lobby or any luxury. It is just a large, functional institution where medical education and patient care happen at the same time. It’s a bit messy and loud, but it’s a vital part of the city. We just stay focused on the patients.
