G. S. Trading Company

Our shop is number 2, right beside the SBH Bank. It is a good landmark because everyone knows where the bank is in the Roza Baugh area. We are also quite close to Maulana Azad College, so there are always students walking past our front door on their way to classes. G. S. Trading Company is basically just a practical place. We have a lot of stuff piled up inside, mostly things we need for the daily trade. The street outside can get pretty dusty when the wind picks up, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass at the front. It’s not a very big shop, but we make it work by stacking things high. We usually have the radio playing in the background, mostly old songs that nobody else seems to listen to anymore. The neighbor from the bank often comes over for a quick chat when things are slow. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big sign with bright lights. Most of our work is just handling orders and making sure the numbers match up at the end of the day. Sometimes we stay late when a shipment arrives, but usually, we head home when the sun goes down. It is a steady way to make a living, and we have been in this spot long enough that the locals know us by name. The college kids sometimes pop in to ask for change, and we help out when we can.
