Ikon Multispecaility Hospital sits right in the middle of Ganesh Colony, just off VIP Road in the Majnu Hills area. It’s a bit of a trek to get up the hill, but the view of the city below is actually quite nice from some of the windows. There are many different departments squeezed into the building, so you’ll always see people moving through the corridors. Between the doctors, the nursing staff, and the families visiting, it can get quite loud in the mornings. Ganesh Colony itself is a fairly quiet neighborhood, which is good for the patients who are trying to get some rest. We don't have all the latest high-tech gadgets or shiny lobbies, but the basic care is what matters most here. The staff rooms are usually full of half-drunk cups of tea and people taking quick breaks between rounds. Sometimes, when the evening shift starts, things quiet down enough for us to just sit for a second. Many people from the surrounding Majnu Hills come here because it's the most convenient place for them to get seen. Running a hospital involves a mountain of paperwork, but we try to keep it moving as best as we can. It’s a standard hospital routine with its own set of daily challenges. We just focus on the rounds and making sure the beds are ready for whoever might need them next. It’s a lot of work, but everyone just gets on with it without making a fuss.
