Basant Gents Beauty Parlour

Out here on Daltonganj Road in Aurangabad, Bihar, things move at their own speed. Basant Gents Beauty Parlour is my place. It sits right in the city area near the H O. I’ve spent many years behind the chair here. It’s a simple setup. I have a few mirrors and the usual tools of the trade. Most of the men who come in are regulars from around the neighborhood. They come for a haircut or maybe a shave before a wedding or a festival. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. It gets quite hot in the summer, but we just deal with it. I try to keep the place organized, though sometimes the newspapers get piled up in the corner. People like to read them while they wait. I learned this work from my father, and I’ve just kept going with it. Daltonganj Road is usually noisy with traffic, so there’s always something to look at through the window. We don’t do anything complicated here. No fancy facials or expensive treatments. Just a good, honest haircut. Sometimes I stay open a bit later if a regular customer shows up after work. It’s not a big corporate chain, just a local shop where you can get your hair cut without much fuss. That’s how we like to keep it and it works for us.
