If you know where the Bhaji Mandai is, then you can find us pretty easily. We are at house number 16/155, right in the thick of the market chaos. Bandgar'S Baker and Sweets Privatelimited has been part of this neighborhood for a good bit of time. It’s a loud area, especially in the mornings when all the vegetable sellers are shouting and people are crowding the lanes. Our shop is small and can get pretty cramped when we have a lot of trays coming out of the kitchen. There isn't much room for anything other than the essentials. We don't have a professional cleaning crew or a fancy marketing department. We do all the sweeping and the heavy lifting ourselves. You can usually find a bit of sugar on the floor or some flour dust on the counters because we’re constantly moving. It’s a family-run kind of feel here. We know the names of the people who stop by after they finish their grocery shopping at the mandai. Sometimes we run out of certain sweets before the day is over, and we just have to tell people to come back tomorrow. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just make the food, put it in the cases, and sell it to whoever walks through the door. It’s a busy, messy, and very normal way to make a living.
