Balaghat Social Foundation

We’ve got our office set up in Aurangabad, specifically over in the Garkheda area. It’s located in the N-Build Hills building, Flat No. 2. Garkheda is a decent part of town, not too hectic but still has enough going on. We started the Balaghat Social Foundation because there were social issues we thought we could help with locally. It’s not a huge operation by any means. Our space is basically just a couple of rooms where we keep our files and meet anyone who needs a hand. The building is okay, though the parking can be a bit of a headache if you come during the busy hours. We’ve been here for a while now and most of the shops nearby know us. Sometimes we sit out on the small balcony when it's not too hot just to get a break from the computer screens. We do a lot of coordination for local events and social work from here. It’s mostly just making phone calls and talking to people in the community. There’s no big mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just come in, do what needs to be done, and go home. It’s practical work. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s a comfortable place to work from and it serves its purpose for what we do every day. We just try to stay busy and help out.
