An Up General Store

An Up General Store is located on Jalna Road in Aurangabad. If you find the ABC Complex, we are just near that. It’s a basic general store where we sell everyday items. We have been here for a good amount of time and seen the road change quite a bit. Aurangabad is getting bigger but our corner remains much the same. We stock everything from snacks to cleaning supplies. It’s a small room filled with shelves. I usually handle everything myself. People walking by often stop in for a cold drink or a pack of cigarettes. It’s not a place where you’d find luxury goods, just the stuff people actually use every day. The noise from Jalna Road is constant, so you get used to the honking. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the shop door. Sometimes the inventory is a bit messy but we know where everything is kept. If someone asks for something we don't have, we try to get it for them next time. It’s just a way to earn a living and stay busy. The local people are nice and we have a few who come every single day. It’s a very normal, local life here. We open early and close when the street gets quiet at night. Nothing more to it than that. Most days the weather is hot and we just sit under the fan.
